About

Fern HR Consulting was founded by Anna Kalla, an HR and People & Culture professional with over five years’ experience across architecture and professional services firms in Melbourne.

Anna’s HR career has taken her from building HR functions as the first dedicated HR Manager at Kyriacou Architects, to leading people teams at ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects, to a combined HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition role at Viridian Advisory — where she led a Wellbeing Strategy that won the IFA Excellence Award for Wellness Program of the Year. Along the way, she’s managed everything from high-volume recruitment and parental leave policy design to sensitive redundancy processes, always with a focus on getting the details right and the people looked after.

She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology, a Graduate Diploma of Project Management, and a Master of International Business — a combination that shapes how she works: understanding people, managing process, and thinking commercially, all at once.

The name Fern comes from the street where Anna’s family beach house stands — the place she felt happiest, most creative, and most herself. That’s the energy she set out to bring into her own consulting practice: calm, grounded, and genuinely invested in the people she works with.

Founded in 2026, Fern HR Consulting was built on a simple idea — that businesses of every size deserve HR support that’s thoughtful, practical, and human. Whether it’s a single project or an ongoing partnership, Anna brings the same level of care to every client she works with.
